PlasmaWorks

A focused plasma workflow: CAD geometry, toolpath generation, validation, handoff.

Quick start

  1. Launch Start-PlasmaWorks.cmd.
  2. Set sheet size, material, thickness, kerf, pierce delay and safe Z.
  3. Load SVG, ASCII DXF, G-code, TAP or NC.
  4. Resolve preflight items.
  5. Generate NeuNuc plasma G-code, inspect Toolpaths and G-code, then export.

ViaCAD / CAD → SheetCam TNG / CAM → Mach3 / bridge

The external desktop workflow remains available as optional helpers. NeuNuc’s internal CAM can also turn supported LINE, LWPOLYLINE, ARC, CIRCLE and simple SVG path geometry into a deterministic plasma candidate.

Generation includes rapid positioning, safe Z, pierce delay, lead-in, approximate contour kerf offset, cut feed, M3/M5 torch-style sequencing, optional lead-out and M30 shutdown.

External tools

ViaCAD, SheetCam TNG and Mach3 use user-configured paths first and conventional paths second. Found means only that a file exists. It does not prove licensing, a controller, or a supported command line.

Opening a file or Mach3 requires OPEN VIACAD, OPEN SHEETCAM, or OPEN MACH3. No cycle, torch, jog or motion command is sent.

Adapters

Simulation and validated local folder handoff are available. A local plasma-controller status contract is disabled by default. No credentials or cloud fallback exist.

Safety

Generation and export only. Local handoff requires HAND OFF JOB. Verify postprocessor semantics, torch-on output, pierce height, safe Z, kerf direction, lead-ins, material data, ground, ventilation, and controller interlocks before cutting.

Limits

Kerf compensation for closed contours is approximate. Complex nested islands, exact CAD topology, machine-specific postprocessing and production collision checks remain for later validation.
